Xanthos Sports Cars have been pleased to be supporting genuine examples of these exciting and historic cars for over 10 years with spare parts servicing and repairs. That almost as many replacement chassis as there were original cars have been manufactured during that time is testament to the accuracy in detail of our products. We are proud to be able to offer a product portfolio that covers every part required to build an entire car. With sensitive modification from the original, our parts can be used to build an SVA compliant car for road registration and use.
		For the customer who does not require outright originality but desires the true experience of this classic Le Mans racing car, the Xanthos 23x provides the closest alternative available. Retaining the same reproduction chassis, suspension, steering and body, the car embodies all the essential ingredients for a true Lotus 23 experience. Whilst the use of modern brakes, instrumentation, engine and other parts does nothing to detract from the experience but brings modern reliability and performance to these crucial systems. This car is true to the original in all aspects that made the car a legend in it’s time and is destined to remain an outright performer in our time as well.

The detailed changes from the Lotus 23 race car that have been done on the Xanthos 23x include :

Medium weight body shell, for increased durability and protection.
Wilwood front callipers with vented disks.
Handbrake operating on Ford Sierra rear callipers.
Combined Tacho and Speedo unit.
Safety roll cage to current standards.
Lightweight road wheels allowing a range of specialist track day tyres.
Electric circuits such as a fuel gauge, cooling fan, indicators, hazard lights and electronic ignition - none of these were not originally fitted !
Modern plastic brake and clutch reservoirs to replace the original steel Girling type so that you can verify the fluid levels easily.
The Ford Zetec engine replaces what would often have been the now outdated Lotus Twin Cam. *
Formula Vee fully synchromeshed and strengthened VW gearbox.

* A new Twin Cam engine can be sourced to give 170 bhp. A standard Zetec gives 175 PS in normally aspirated form for less than half the price - and it is more reliable.
